ConnectSouth has been ranked at the very top of Georgia public affairs companies because we understand the new leaders in Georgia and how they approach the issues.
In the new Georgia, it is no longer enough to just “know somebody.” Effective public relations requires in-depth knowledge of the client’s issue – and a tireless work ethic that takes advocacy to the decision makers at every possible step in the public affairs process.
Know the decision makers. Know the issues. Work harder than everyone else.
That is the ConnectSouth method, and the results speak for themselves.
- Georgia cemeteries had been over-regulated for years, subjected to more regulation than any other business in the state including healthcare businesses. In spite of intense opposition from the media, politicians and industries who had a vested interest in continuing the over-regulation, the principals at ConnectSouth helped deliver a legislative reform package that eased the burden on legitimate cemetery operators in Georgia.
- Many states in the Southeast have enjoyed the benefits of community development districts for years, helping spread out the cost of development to new residents who caused the costs. However, powerful opponents in both politics and the media had bottled up this legislation in Georgia for two years. The principals at ConnectSouth were engaged to change the dynamic on this issue, and in just four months legislation creating community development districts passed the General Assembly for the first time.
- Long-term care pharmacies had been targeted for a greater than $100 million budget cut –which would have decimated the pharmacy care for nursing home patients around the state. The founders of ConnectSouth got engaged and led an effort which brought about the complete repeal of the budget cut – even after the cut had been approved by the General Assembly.
